UO Student Dormitories

The University of Opole has over 1,700 accommodation places in 4 dormitories: DS. Kmicic, DS. Mrowisko, DS. Niechcic, DS. Spójnik.

The rooms in the UO dormitories vary in size, layout and standard. These are, for example, triple rooms, double rooms, single rooms or modular rooms with their own bathroom and kitchenette.

Dom Studenta Kmicic also has guest rooms rented on an ad hoc basis, e.g. to part-time students and guests.

Why is it worth living in a dormitory?

  • location – the dormitories are located in the center of Opole, between Oleska, Czaplaka, Grunwaldzka and Katowicka streets (check the location on the map -> map)

This allows for efficient movement between the university buildings and in the city.

Step 1 - HOW TO APPLY FOR THE DORMITORY?

Do you want to live in a dormitory? What’s next? Apply for a place.

Do not postpone it “for later” – applications will be verified and considered in the order in which they were submitted. How to apply? Check on the website:

http://kampus.uni.opole.pl/akademik-krok-po-kroku/ and in the IRK system.

Log in to the IRK system: (https://rekrutacja.uni.opole.pl), select the right recruitment -> dormitory application.

Read the basic information and follow the instructions.

You will need them to apply for a dormitory:

  • distance from your permanent place of residence to the university, i.e. Plac Kopernika 11 in Opole (expressed in kilometers, it can be checked e.g. using Google Maps. Students/foreigners and doctoral students/foreigners enter the distance from their permanent place of residence outside Poland to the university) net
  • monthly income per person in the family in the previous tax year (e.g. in the academic year 2022/2023, income from 2021 must be provided)
  • additional documents, e.g. a certificate of disability
Step 1 - I WANT TO LIVE IN A DORMITORY

ATTENTION!

  • Submitting an application is not tantamount to granting a place in a dormitory. You will be informed about the granting of a place by e-mail after considering the application.
  • A place in a dormitory is granted for the academic year.
  • The condition for considering the application is the payment of the recruitment fee.

 

Applications will be considered in the order of receipt in three rounds:

  • 1st round – deadline for submitting applications: from the opening of recruitment to 31.07. – persons whose applications are approved will be informed by e-mail, and the list of these persons will be published on the website kampus.uni.opole.pl by 10.07.
  • 2nd round – deadline for submitting applications: from 01.08. until 31.08. – persons whose applications are approved will be informed by e-mail, and the list of these persons will be published on the website kampus.uni.opole.pl by 10.08.
  • 3rd round – applications submitted in September and later – persons who submit an application in the 3rd round are placed on the reserve list
Step 2 - ACCOMMODATION

See the accommodation schedule. It will be published in September at kampus.uni.opole.pl.

You will find there information about the date on which you should appear at the Student Dormitories (day, time) and the details of the dormitory where you will be staying.

On the day designated for your field of study, report to the administration office of the dormitory in which you have been assigned a place.

Remember to prepare:

  • identity document (for inspection)
  • 1 photo (format – for ID card, necessary to issue a resident card)

During the accommodation:

 we will assign you a room

  • we will sign a contract, which will include, among other things, payment information:
  • bank account number, date of payment for the dormitory

we will answer all your questions

 

Attention!

  • We provide you with a place in a dormitory with access to the media. Everything you need for normal functioning, you must bring it with you.
  • If during the academic year you want to change the accommodation conditions, e.g. a room, a dormitory – it is possible after consulting the Dormitory administration and subject to available places.
Step 3 – CHECK OUT

Do you want to move out of the dormitory? / are you leaving?

You can do it in a few simple steps:

  • inform the student dormitory administration employee about your desire to move out
  • check out – check the regulations of UO dormitories or ask in the administration office how to do it
  • settle all possible arrears in fees
  • pass the resident card

Attention!

Only correct check-out from the dormitory (see above) gives you the opportunity to apply for a place in a dormitory for the next academic year!

Step 3 - I WANT TO CONTINUE LIVING IN THE DORMITORY

If you want to live in a dormitory in the next academic year, you must:

  • have all dorm fees paid (including interest)
  • pay the fee (see the Regulations of Student Dormitories UO)
  • until 30.06. submit an application for a dormitory – in the USOS system (log in to your USOSweb -> in the “for everyone” tab, search for the “applications” tab-> you will find all applications available to you, including “a dormitory application” -> fill it out – > do the last step: click “register”.
  •  REMEMBER! Application submitted means REGISTERED!!!

 

Attention!

The order of applications decides about granting a place in a dormitory. Do you want to have a place in it? Don’t delay submitting your application!

Information about persons who have been granted a place in a dormitory will be published on the website kampus.uni.opole.pl by 10.07.
