Medical care in Poland

Every foreigner who starts studying in Poland is required to have health insurance. How can it be obtained?

Persons of Polish descent

If you can confirm Polish origin or have a Pole’s Card, you can have voluntary insurance with the National Health Fund (NFZ). Contributions will be paid through the University of Opole. More information: https://bss.uni.opole.pl/ubezpieczenia-zdrowotne/

Persons without Polish origin

You can voluntarily enroll in health insurance (this requires signing an agreement with the National Health Fund – NFZ – and paying a monthly contribution). More information is available at: http://www.nfz-opole.pl/dla-pacjenta/ubezpieczenie-dobrowolne/

If you are not entitled to free medical care, you can purchase insurance from a private insurance company. The staff of the International Admissions Team can assist you in contacting PZU Wojażer.
